Professional tennis is back in downtown San Jose. The SAP Open returns to the HP Pavilion February 7 – 13. Up and coming star Milos Raonic has just been added to the field after his impressive run at the recent Australian Open where he led the tournament with 94 aces – 18 more than the next player! He also had the fastest serve of the tournament – 143 mph! Seeing players of this caliber up close and personal in an arena like the HP Pavilion is a treat – it’s the only way to truly feel and experience the speed and strength of these professional athletes. The Open field includes four current Top 20 players: Fernando Verdasco, Gael Monfils, Mardy Fish, and Sam Querry. It also includes past Top 10 players Juan Martin del Potro, Lleyton Hewitt and James Blake. Two-time SAP Open Champion and 14-time Grand Slam winner Pete Sampras will play a singles exhibition on Monday evening, February 7 vs. Gael Monfils. It will be their first meeting. Week-long ticket packages start at just $99. You can purchase tickets by faxing or mailing the Series Package Ticket form, or by calling (408)ACE-2121. Individual ticket prices start at $20 and can be ordered through Ticketmaster or at the HP Pavilion. You can also win two courtside seats and dinner at The Grill at the HP Pavilion by becoming a fan of the SAP Open on Facebook or following the SAP Open on Twitter. For Facebook, go to www.facebook.com/SAPOpen, and for Twitter, go to www.twitter.com/SAPOpenTennis. Good luck! So sports fans, make it a day and enjoy one of downtown San Jose’s sports bars – the new Los Gatos Brewing Company would be a good place to start – then head to the HP Pavilion to enjoy professional tennis at it’s best.
