Silicon Valley PRIDE Turns 50: What to Know About This Year’s Unstoppable Celebration
This Labor Day Weekend, Silicon Valley PRIDE returns to Downtown San Jose for what promises to be its biggest and boldest event yet! A 50th anniversary celebration honoring five decades of love, legacy, and liberation.
Taking place August 30 and 31 at Plaza de César Chávez, this year’s festival carries the theme "Unstoppable", a powerful nod to the movement's roots in activism and its evolution into a full-scale celebration of identity, progress, and community connection.
San Jose's Own Snow Tha Product to Headline Saturday Night
One of the most exciting announcements? Snow Tha Product, a Latin GRAMMY-nominated rapper and proud San Jose native, will headline the Saturday Night Festival. Known for her rapid-fire flow, bilingual lyrics, and empowering presence, Snow’s performance is a homecoming moment and a reflection of the festival’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and representation.
Her presence at the 50th anniversary is a fitting tribute to how far the community has come, both locally and globally.
A Weekend Full of Energy, Pride, and Community
The two-day celebration includes a Saturday night festival, Sunday morning parade, and Sunday day festival, all packed with entertainment, resources, food vendors, and family-friendly fun. 50 Years of Impact
From its beginnings as a small gay rights rally in 1975 to becoming the largest Pride event in the South Bay, Silicon Valley PRIDE has grown into a vibrant celebration that welcomes over 15,000 attendees each year. This year’s milestone underscores the enduring importance of Pride—not only as a joyful celebration, but also as a platform for advocacy, visibility, and unity.
As Nicole Altamirano, CEO of Silicon Valley PRIDE, shares:
“We’ve spent half a century breaking barriers and embracing every facet of who we are, and this historic festival is our boldest statement yet: we are truly unstoppable.”
